Free falling

When I came in this morning there was an email from Brian, he said he'd look into it, and sure enough a few hours later an email arrived from Brian, with the IP addresses that were set up for us. It was then a matter of changing our IP addresses to the new ones. The first IP address still didn't fix the problem, however the second one did work, all of a sudden steam worked!

I wasted no time in getting the files we had been working on from Andrews PC to mine, to have something to show at the meeting. Brian arrived a bit before the and we both had a look at the level Andrew and I had been working on. There were however some problems. When editing the map the hammer editor froze when editing a certain area of the map, which is of course highly undesirable. When the map was run there were also some problems. These included props such as the truck didn't display (instead there was a big red neon sign saying "ERROR", didn't really blend into the map completely unnoticed)

There were also textures for both the ground and ceiling that didn't display correctly (displayed as red and purple checkered patter) Both these issues were due to files and setup missing from my PC.

We also found a hole in the level, if you walked into it, the result was a Wile E. Coyote moment, where you fell and fell, as the level above you got smaller and smaller, was funny, but not exactly needed for the level.

In the meeting the level was demonstrated, however the limitations were explained. Afterwards we sat down again and discussed the storyboard for the game, outlining a few more scenarios and tasks.
